What this site collects
This site is a set of plain pages about Cedar Lodge. It has no forms, no accounts and no sign in. It stores nothing about you in your browser.
Our web host keeps the usual server logs: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser type. That is how the site keeps running and how we can see that it works.
Advertising pixels
No advertising pixel runs on this site today. Nothing here reports your visit to Facebook, Instagram, Google or anyone else.
If we ever add one to measure our advertising, this section changes first: it will name the company, say what the code collects, and carry the date we switched it on.
This site uses the Meta pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. It tells Meta that a browser visited a page here, which page, roughly when, and an identifier Meta stores in a cookie, along with standard details such as your browser type and IP address. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta can match the visit to your account.
We use it to see how our Facebook and Instagram ads are doing and to show our ads to people who have visited this site. You can limit this in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, and most browsers let you block third party cookies. Meta's own privacy policy explains what Meta does with the data. This site does not respond to browser do not track signals.
Booking
Booking happens on our booking system, which is a separate site. It handles your name, your contact details and your dates.
No card is taken on the booking page yet. When online payment is switched on, our payment processor takes it on its own secure page, and this page will say so.

When you go from this site to the booking system, the link carries a note that you came from here, so we can tell which bookings started on this site.
Links to other sites
We link out to Google Maps and Apple Maps for directions, to Caltrans QuickMap for road conditions, and to the National Park Service, the Forest Service and Plumas County for the things we quote. Once you are on one of those sites, its own privacy policy applies, not ours.
