A season calendar for Cedar Lodge
Not a price calendar. This is weather, road access and what is actually open, month by month, pulled from the National Park Service, Plumas County and our own three area guides, all cited where we cited them the first time.
Rates change and we are not going to commit to a dated price table in a wildfire county. Current pricing always lives on rates and policies, never here.

The short version
- Winter runs roughly November through April, with January, December and February the three heaviest snow months on record.
- The Lassen park highway is typically closed from late autumn to late spring, and the exact opening date has moved by six weeks between years.
- Lake Almanor never closes to trout fishing, under the statewide rule, in any month.
- We are open every month of the year, which in this basin is not the default.
- This page has no prices on it, on purpose. Current rates always live on rates and policies.

Why there is no price table here
Plumas County burned in 2021. California law restricts raising prices during a declared emergency, and we are not going to build a page that locks in a future date and a future number for a room, months ahead of knowing what that month actually looks like. Current pricing lives in exactly one place on this site, rates and policies, generated from the same rate table every time you load it. This page is weather and access only.
How to read this table
Averages describe a typical year, not the year you are booking. The Lassen guide’s own seven year table shows the park highway opening anywhere from 17 May to 1 July, a six week spread, and closing anywhere from 21 October to 6 December. Treat every row above as the shape of a normal season, and check the linked guides for the actual current status before you plan around a specific date.
Where you sleep
We are open every month of the year, at the junction of Highway 36 and Highway 89, three miles west of Chester.
No booking fee, no resort fee, no cleaning fee. Plumas County adds 9% occupancy tax and a 3% tourism district assessment. First bookable night is 30 September 2026.
